How to Properly Pour Absinthe: A Step by Step Guide
To properly pour absinthe using water, you will need: a glass (a Pontarlier absinthe glass is preferred), an absinthe spoon, a sugar cube, water, and the absinthe, itself.
1.) Pour the absinthe into the glass, equal to about one fifth of its capacity
2.) Place the absinthe spoon on the rim of the glass, followed by the sugar cube atop the spoon
3.) Pour a small amount of water on the sugar cube and allow it to sit for a minute or two. Then slowly pour more water over the sugar cube until it dissolves and the required level of dilution is achieved
4.) Stir your absinthe, and enjoy!
